Congratulations and farewell Father Joe Stahura from Greencastle-Antrim

Parishioners of St. Mark the Evangelist (Greencastle) and St. Luke (Mercersburg) Catholic churches gathered recently to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the ordination of Father Joseph Stahura as a priest.

The event was bittersweet as the pastor retired Sunday. He said his final mass there at 9 a.m.

Father Stahura, who is the longest-serving priest in St. Mark’s history, was celebrated as inspirational, accomplished, fiscally responsible and visionary.

Father Kyle Sahd, the Parochial Vicar for St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, will assume the duties of priest of the local parishes next week.
